Sue Fracker, Creator of Cowbell Card Game

Hello

I'm Sue Fracker, creator of COWBELL Card Game, a fun card game for 2, 3 or 4 players ages 7 and up.  If you're 5 or 6, you can certainly give it a try.  Age is just a number anyway.  I'm 55, and I love playing it!

About Me and the Cows

I grew up in a small town in Michigan and have always loved doodling and drawing cartoons.  I have no formal training in animation, illustration or games, but I am an experienced and accomplished graphic designer.  I've created characters and mascots for various businesses over the years; I enjoy bringing characters to life.  My brother once described me as someone who can put arms and legs on anything and make it come alive.  This was shortly after I made a mascot out of the number 1.

The cow characters in COWBELL Card Game were hand drawn, and then I worked in CorelDraw to create the finished cards.  The game was inspired by my love for several card games I played as a kid - in particular Old Maid.  I hated getting stuck with the Old Maid and losing.  It happened a lot.  So often, in fact, that my Mom caught me hiding the Old Maid under my pillow to eliminate any chance of ending up with that card.  I wanted to create a game with a single card in the deck that was not something to avoid, but something to capture and then celebrate having in the end.  The cowbell, with its unique sound and distinct role in pastures across America (and some rock bands), is something you just want more of.

My family has always been "punny" - from my parents, to my aunts and uncles and my wonderful brothers and sister.  We can trade puns to the point of exhaustion, likely to the annoyance of anyone within earshot.  It will come as no surprise to any Fracker that this game is hey diddle riddled with numerous cow puns, and all are quite intended.  I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I do!

Currently, I live in a cool loft space on the top floor of an old mill building with my beautiful partner, Laura, and our two sizeable cats, Tes and Zeke, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.  Maybe we'll see you at the farmer's market.
